Who we are
Over 100 years ago, Rudolph Schober bought and built one of the first pack stations in the area called Schober’s Pack Train. He and his sons named many of the unnamed lakes in this back country. Eventually, He turned the pack station over to his son Arthur in 1928, who, in turn, ran it with his son Walt up until the 1980’s when it was sold.
Now, the pack station has returned to family hands and is run by a 5th generation Owens Valley resident and cattle rancher, Tani Tatum, the great granddaughter of Rudolph Schober.
We, at Bishop Creek Pack Station, are looking forward to meeting you and helping you experience the untouched beauty of the Sierras.
